Adam's Park

We have a little park down the street from us. I think it was actually a lot that the developer couldn't build on so he just gave it to the neighborhood. We call it "Adam's Park." The name came from a neighbors dog. He'd walk Adam down to the park every morning and night to do his business. Like it was his personal doggie bathroom. Plus, he never cleaned up after Adam.
Don't blame Adam!!! It was the knucklehead owner!!!
Don't get be going on people that fail to clean up after their dogs.
Anyway we started calling it Adam's Park. Adam is long gone and thankfully he has not been replaced.

I walk Gypsy and Red down to the park and let them sniff around. This seems to have a calming affect on Gypsy. Not sure why.

Saturday

It was crazy warm here Saturday. We were up into the 60's. Gypsy and Red spent most of the day hanging out in the back yard.
When we came inside, Red found a sunny spot to lounge around in with his BFF Pokey. They keep an eye on the front yard, on the look out for the cat "No Bells"

Flying Poodle

f
For those that are new to Gypsy, she used to be a great jumper. As a puppy she would leap out of the back door, getting some big air underneath her. So, we built a jump out of some PVC. I made two heights, 2' and then 4' thinking she'd have to build up to the top setting. Not so much. Gypsy just loved jumping for us.
When ever we had friends over we'd set up the jump and let her do her thing. She really enjoyed it and I think she would try to add a bit of flare when we had guests. We retired her from jumping a few years ago. She started knocking the bar down, something that never happened when she was younger.
Hey, you try jumping over that thing big boy!!!
Gypsy had a great time putting a jumping show on for us. It was a happy time for her.

Valentines Day!!!

I'm fortunate enough to have several Valentines running around the house. Besides my sweetie, I have a few of the furry variety. Of those Gypsy is still #1!!!
Enjoy the day.

Fitting In

Red continues to "fit into" our life. Like Gypsy, he loves to walk and play in the backyard. Unlike Gyp, he will hang out in the yard by himself. He is great in the house and a world class chewer of bones. He has never chewed on anything but his toys. Most importantly he is learning how to live with the cats. He is still interested in them, sneaking a sniff whenever possible. He and Pokey are still BFF's and wrestle from time to time.
To me, the biggest risk of getting another dog was how Gypsy would react. She has been a real trooper with Red. He enjoys taking interest in whatever Gypsy has, bone, Dino, stick, and swiping it from her at the first opportunity. Gypsy just gets up and patrols the yard until she finds something new to play with until Red takes that. This morning I took them out and Gypsy sprung out of the garage, turning in mid air, and landed facing Red, daring him to chase her. Of course Red took off after the smiling Gypsy for a few laps around the yard. He tries his best to cut her off but Gypsy is still pretty fast. After a few laps they both were huffing and puffing and we went back inside. Gypsy went immediately to her bed, followed a few minutes later by Red.
You can lay there for now boy but don't try any funny stuff!!

Global Warming

Last week was a crazy weather week on the Eastern Shore. We had a 70 degree day. Crazy for February. We spent most of the day outside. The dogs loved it. Gypsy is recovered from her fall the other day. She tried her best to get Sandi engaged in a game of tag. Just like when she was a puppy.
Red had a big time playing fetch with Dino. Gypsy just looks on with disgust.
What a terrible thing to do with Dino!!!

The next day we followed 70 up with about 35 and snow flurries! The animals enjoyed a fire.
It makes me sleepy!!!

Gypsy Falls

Gypsy was running laps around the yard with Red. Had a good game of tag going on when Gyp went down hard. I just caught it out of the corner of my eye. I think she was making a tight turn and just lost it. She got up, limping not putting much weight on her right rear leg. After a while she seemed ok with her pride hurt more than her leg. She seems to have lost some of her agility as she gets older.

Tang Sunday

It's been a lazy Sunday morning. Red is totally worn out from a busy morning of chewing his bone and following his Mom around. Tang is also taking a break from patrolling. Just a short break.

Tang

I've talked about Tang before. He is one of our "Red Boys." Tang is about as sweet a cat can be. His nickname is "The Sheriff" because is always patrolling the house. If two of the other cats are wrestling, Tang will cruise by seeing what is going on. If was are watching a movie, Tang will stop by from time to time making sure everything is good.

Tang is going to the Vet on monday. Sandi noticed he hacked up some blood the other day. Usually not a good thing. He has always been a skinny little guy but looks like he might have lost some weight. Cats are strange creatures, they hide sickness/illness not letting others know they might be weak. Hope this turns out to be a false alarm.

Fast!

It is difficult to get a decent picture of Red when he is running laps. He can scoot along pretty good.

Lap Time

Gypsy and Red run laps around the backyard. I had them out yesterday and they had a big time. It was a bit warmer so I think they were feeling pretty good about being outside.

Gypsy can still fly. Although for not as long as she used to. Plus she take a spill not and then on the tight corners. Red tried his best to keep up, determined to be a pest. He tries to out-think Gyp by cutting her off at the pass.
After just a few minutes they are huffing and puffing. Gypsy is generally the first to take a break from the lap running and Red is happy to join her.

Winter Fields

We had a dusting of snow the other night.
The fields behind our neighborhood are pretty with the snow.
